Review of Miller’s Girl

A superb movie featuring a cast of gifted actors who gave outstanding performances. Martin Freeman and Jenna Ortega both do a fantastic job portraying two people on a quest for inspiration and a sense of belonging that ultimately ends tragically.

The visual and aural aesthetics of the movie are dreamlike. The otherworldly cinematography is exquisite to look at, and the southern gothic visage perfectly complements the scene. The proceedings are enhanced by an eerie music.

Although the movie’s plot isn’t particularly novel, the final 20 minutes are incredibly captivating. I became so engrossed in the play that I literally forgot I was in a theater. The performers deserve kudos for the intensity of their real emotion. Gideon, Jenna, and Martin were outstanding.
